Forming Synchronize
For decades, independent financial advisors were forced to seek fragmented business solutions to meet the needs of their clients and their businesses. This fractured industry standard inspired leaders from Lockton Affinity, SBG Inc., Blueprint Insurance Services and Freedom Partners to combine their specialized expertise into one, all-encompassing offering—Synchronize, powered by Lockton Affinity.

Our story
Jack Lockton establishes Lockton Companies.
Today, Lockton is the world’s largest privately held insurance brokerage firm, providing insurance, employee benefits, risk management and retirement services. Lockton operates more than 100 locations in 125 countries, employing more than 8,500 people worldwide.
Lockton Affinity forms as an affiliate of Lockton Companies.
Lockton Affinity was designed to underwrite and distribute specialty insurance products that fall outside standard markets. Today, Lockton Affinity provides their specialized insurance products to independent insurance agents, RIAs, broker-dealers and affinity groups of 100 to more than four million members. Lockton Affinity is one of the nation’s leading program administrators.
Lockton Affinity breaks into the financial professional industry, insuring accountants, attorneys, advisors and more.
Over time, this offering evolves into Lockton Affinity Advisor, providing Errors and Omissions with fiduciary coverage, Cyber Liability and other specialized business insurance for financial advisors, RIAs and life agents.
Lockton Affinity acquires The Blueprint Insurance Services.
The Blueprint, a boutique insurance marketing organization, was created to distribute life insurance, fixed annuities, long-term care insurance and disability insurance through RIAs and independent financial advisors.
Lockton Affinity acquires Freedom Partners.
Freedom Partners, a back-office service provider for RIAs and independent financial advisors, focuses on the day-to-day activities of running an RIA, including marketing, operations and financial matters. Freedom Partners specializes in helping advisors in transition.
Lockton Affinity acquires SBG Inc.
Founded in 1996 by Bill Dolan, SBG specializes in providing personalized brokerage services for financial advisors as a full-service, multi-carrier agency. SBG partners with some of the country’s favored broker dealers and wirehouses, as well as regional firms, banks and independent producers.
Lockton Affinity forms Synchronize.
Lockton Affinity, Blueprint Insurance Services, Freedom Partners and SBG Inc. combined their specialized products into one, all-encompassing offering—Synchronize. This comprehensive business solution was built specifically for RIAs, broker-dealers and comprehensive financial advisors.
